Summary

Bully just got a new age rating in Taiwan, approving the game for release on modern platforms. This is despite theRockstarclassic already being available on many platforms, prompting speculation that the game is finally getting a re-release.

As spotted byGematsu, the Taiwan Entertainment Software Rating Information website now listsbrand new ratingsfor Bully. The date for these listings is July 08, 2025 - the current date in Taiwan, as it’s now past midnight. This means that, for whatever reason, these are new ratings, and one theory is that there are plans for a re-release or remaster.

New age ratings for Bully in Taiwan

Bully Rated For PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC

As noted by Gematsu, the rating also relists the game for release onXbox 360, for some reason. Since this hasn’t been done for platforms of the same generation, it is suspected that this is a mistake.

Speculation on the future of the Bully franchise has run rampant for years. This isn’t surprising, as the game isvery fondly remembered all these years later, but little has been done with the series since the 2008 re-release, Bully: Scholarship Edition. After this, it was ported to mobile devices in 2016, but there’s been no word on a sequel or remake/remaster.

It has been widely reported that a sequel to Bully wasin the works at some stage, but was later cancelled. Even if this is true, it’s possible that the project was restarted, and something will happen with the series after all. Or, we might just get a re-release, giving the game some improvements for modern consoles.

We’ll have to wait and see if anything comes of these new age ratings. Right now, new games in the Bully series haven’t been confirmed by Rockstar, and the studio likely has its hands full withGrand Theft Auto 6. The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy remasters were handled by a third party though, so it’s possible that the same could be done with Bully.
