When jumping into a game ofFortnite, it’s easy to quickly dive in rather than think about where you’ll be landing. After all, there’s loot to be found pretty much everywhere on the island, and sometimes, it’s just up to luck who gets to pick the best weapons in the game.
As it turns out, some of the best locations in Chapter 5 Season 4 find the perfect balance between a good amount of loot, and being away from the most dangerous spots. Unless you’re someone who eagerly looks forward to dropping at a hot spot, these locations can help you strategize and find loot better. Since all the locations are already marked on the map, you’ll have no trouble finding them.
Doom’s Courtyard
Not too far from Castle Doom, this location is an ideal landing spotif you’re looking to find the Doombot’s loadout later on. With more than a couple of chests and a space fairly away from the center, Doom’s Courtyard gives you enough weapons to prepare for a fight against the Doombot.
Once you’re done looting this spot,you can head toward Castle Doom and check if the boss medallion is still available to take. This will be marked on the map, and you can plan your fight accordingly. If not, moving towards the south of the map can save you from future zone-closings.
This happens to be one of those locations that are at the edge of the map. So, be careful of the Storm as it closes in. You don’t want to get caught outside the safe zone when the timer runs out!
Rebel’s Roost
With a few Avengers Chests, Weapon Cases and its proximity to Doomstadt,this place is a perfect spot to land if you want to gear up fast. However, this also makes it slightly dangerous, as a lot of players consider this to be a “safe” drop, when in reality, it’s not!
However, if you successfully loot from this area,you’re able to then head to Doomstadt, where you can find Mysterio and defeat him. This grants you a boss medallion, along with a shotgun that can serve as an important weapon at close range.
Brutal Beachhead
One of the trickiest places to navigate on the map, Brutal Beachhead can be a nightmare for those trying to get quick kills. Instead,landing here can help you find great loot while also ensuring your safety. Sneaking behind walls, using ziplines and finding much-needed Avengers Chests make this place a great choice.
If you’ve got time on your hands, a quick tour of nearby locations like Redline Rig or Sandy Steppes can almost guarantee you a fully kitted Marvel-specific loadout if you successfully loot everything.
Brutal Beachhead’s location isgreat to consider for landing if you have quests towards the south of the map.
Grim Gate
Grim Gate is one of the most unique places in Fortnite, as it provides players withthe Underworld Dash mechanicthat improves mobility. The moment you step into a green water body, you’re granted “spirit skulls” that help you dash across short spaces whenever you’d like to.You can replenish this by jumping back into the water at any given time.
Additionally, there’s also a lot of loot to be found, thanks toa variety of chests spread out across the landscape. Sometimes the location’s verticality can be tricky to traverse through, but once you get the hang of it, this spot can be your personal preference for a great landing.
Mount Olympus
This one’s a big enough spot to grant so many items thatyour entire squad will have a considerable amount of loadout options to consider. Along with Epic and Legendary loot, you can also find Avengers Chests here, which certainly provide a competitive edge over other weapons in the game.
Moreover, the Train will likely be nearby (given the proximity to the railway tracks), giving you an opportunity to board it if you choose to do so.Mount Olympus also serves as an excellent vantage point, given its higher altitude compared to other locations on the map. In case you manage to equip a gun with a decent scope attached to it, try being here as the zones close in.
The Train
As the game progresses, the Train continues to move except for making certain stops occasionally. However,its dynamic mobility ensures that you’re able to cover great distanceswithout having to move on foot, and also provides a great source of loot. Furthermore, it’s also a good place to be if you’re not sure which part of the map you want to explore first.
The Train has a special chest that can be “hacked”. Although this takes a little while to do, you’re able to use that time to study the map and scout regions you’d like to explore later, based on how the Storm moves. It is also a clever way to escape dicey situations, especially when a squad is trying to chase you down.
The Train is marked by a tiny icon on your map, so keep a close eye on its whereabouts as you play.
