Summary
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtreecomes with plenty of new bosses, weapons, sorceries, and incantations. Many players prefer witchcraft as it has proven to be pretty helpful in the base game. However, those who like sorceries might be disappointed as only limited editions can be seen in the DLC.
Remember, the slots for sorceries are limited. So, while all 14 sorceries in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC have their roles, not all are worth having. It’s crucial to select the ones that can benefit you the most, enhancing your gameplay experience.

7Mantle Of Thorns
Mantle of Thorns could be used in early to mid-game. This sorcery doesn’t have an impressive effect against sturdy bosses, but it can be useful for some more DPS against common enemies. Basically, this spell will cover your whole body with the Scadutree Impenetrable Thorns that deal damage to the opponent. While the damage isn’t that impressive, it stacks, and you can also use Briar’s Armor with it.
This spell is purely for those who want to maximize the damage output and want to harm the opponent even while rolling. It could also help content creators for challenge runs.

6Rellana’s Twin Moon
Rellana’s Twin Moon, a spell you might remember from her second phase, is arguably one of the coolest spells in the game and deals a ton of damage. However, its use by tarnished is somewhat disappointing as it isn’t nearly as effective. It can still deal a decent amount of damage while you’re airborne, giving you a glimmer of hope in battle.
So, if the boss’s attacks aren’t hitting you, then you are good. However, it doesn’t give you much hyper armor, so if the enemy’s attack gets you, you will fall to the ground. This will leave you vulnerable and at a massive disadvantage. If only we could go as high as Rellana went using this spell. Another slight drawback of this spell is that the AoE is very small.

5Glinstone Nail
Glinstone Nail, one of the newer spells, has gained popularity for its unique tracking ability. This spell’s tracking is so precise that even if the boss dodges, it can still hit them.Even Malenia, known for her dodging skills, is not immune to this spell. If she manages to dodge the spell, it will do a quick 180 rotation and hit her from the back, a feat that’s sure to impress.
Glinstone Nail deals a decent amount of damage and is an FP-efficient spell, meaning that it costs way less FP and can be charged. This is a must-use spell if you love using sorceries, and later on, you can use its upgraded version.

4Miriam’s Vanishing
Miriam’s Vanishing is a standout among the sorceries in the DLC, not for its offensive prowess, but for its strategic potential. It’s a spell that can be used to dodge an attack, a feat that requires precise timing. The spell offers a significant number of eye frames, but it also has high-up frames, making it a unique and intriguing addition to your arsenal.
The other cool thing about this spell is that you can cast your offensive spell and use Mariam’s Vanishing immediately. Then, after the spell’s effect is over, your offensive spell will be fully charged and hit the enemy if you have locked on. Other than that, you can also use this spell to dodge massive AoE attacks that are usually hard to dodge normally.

3Glinstone Nails
If you are looking for sorcery that deals massive stance damage, has pretty aggressive tracking, and decent magic damage, then Glinstone Nails is the best option. This spell is nearly perfect in Shadow of the Erdtree, and it is highly recommended to use against sturdy enemies, as just a few shots will be able to stun big beats.
If all of the nails hit a boss, it causes around 24-stance damage. With this, the DLC bosses won’t feel as competitive as they are. The tracking is what impresses us, as it has the same tracking as Glinstone Nail. So, make sure to give this sorcery a try.

2Glintblade Trio
The second best sorcery you can find in the early areas of Shadow of the Erdtree is Glinblade Trio. This spell is basically an upgraded version of the Magic Glintblade. We can easily see this spell become a fan favorite due to its high normal and stance damage. This can be helpful against bosses who want to stun and get reposte for high damage.
Glintblade Trio can work really well in a hybrid build. This spell uses less FP and can also be charged. It also has a delay and is spammable, so running away from the boss and spamming this weapon can be a way to get the reposte.

1Impenetrable Thorns
Arguably, the best spell available in the Realm of Shadows is the Impenetrable Thorns. This spell has proven to be highly effective against enemies that can be bled. As the majority of the enemies bled, so this spell is going to destroy them. If you seriously want to demolish a boss in the game, then try using this spell.
Impenetrable Thorns have an incredible range and blood loss build-up. You can cast it from a decent distance, and it would still hit the target. However, if you hit the boss up close with this sorcery, you wouldn’t believe the damage it would do. It takes 15 FP along with 50 HP and deals tremendous amounts of damage to the opponent.
