Last Epoch’sgreatest strength is its variety of builds. Thanks to a deep crafting system and deep skill trees, you can create virtually any build you can imagine with the right gear and passive synergies. But for players who don’t have hours of free time to theorycraft, finding a strong leveling build might be a better option.

While following a dedicated build guide is by no means required to beat Last Epoch and reach its endgame, it can make the leveling experience easier for newer players or those unfamiliar with a particular class. In this short guide, we’ll recommend some of our favorite leveling builds we used throughout the Last Epoch campaign, all of which can be turned into endgame-viable builds with some adjustments.

Necromancer Leveling Build

Arguably the most comfortable leveling build in the game is aNecromancer summoner build for the Acolyte class. This spec is all about summoning an army of undead minions to do your bidding, although that doesn’t mean it’s a completely hands-off class. It can be with the right setup, but our recommended Necromancer build strikes a good balance between active gameplay and passive summoning.

Our build uses a combination ofBone CurseandBlood Ripto deal some damage while our summons take the brunt of all incoming damage.Summon Skeletons and Bone Golemsare perfect for this. Throw onTransplantfor some movement, and you’ll breeze through most of the campaign. Just be sure to get flat sources of damage and some survivability affixes on your gear.

Last Epoch Void Knight 1

Void Knight Leveling Build

The Void Knight is a great melee character for players looking for amelee and magic hybrid playstyle for the Sentinel. This build has room for excellent survivability, solid damage, and is incredibly easy to play. You’ll be alternating betweenVoid CleaveandRiveto chunk enemies with your melee weapon. The rest of your bar is free to use utility skills or other damage skills you’re interested in trying.

Spellblade Leveling Build

The Spellblade is amelee and caster hybrid for the Mage, and it’s easily one of the best leveling builds in the game. Simply invest all your points inMana Striketo melt virtually everything for the first few Chapters, then diverge intoFirebrandandShatter Strikefor even more damage. It deals excellent damage, is fairly tanky, and becomes a powerhouse when you get the right gear in endgame.

Falconer Leveling Build

If you love fast-paced builds in ARPGs, you’ll want to give theFalconer masteryfor the Roguea try. This build uses explosive traps and a trusty companion to blow up everything in sight, inflicting massive damage withExplosive Trap, Dive Bomb, andFalcon Strike. With high mobility and great damage output, you’ll blitz through the campaign faster than most leveling builds, provided you may deal with the high APM gameplay.

Bladedancer Leveling Build

Play as the ultimate hack-and-slash character withthe Bladedancer spec for Rogue. This turns the Rogue into a fast-moving, hard-hitting melee spec that can clear the screen in seconds.Umbral Bladesis the star of the show here, although you’ll need to use Puncture when starting out. Once unlocked, pair it withSmoke BombandSynchronized Striketo stay alive while delivering some devastating hits. It’s not the easiest build to play, but it scales exceptionally well into endgame.

Shaman Leveling Build

Primalist received some great changes in Patch 1.1, including a rework to the Avalanche skill and some major passive buffs. If you want to give the Primalist a try, you can’t go wrong withShaman. The spec is surprisingly mobile withTornadoandStorm Crow, while your focus on Attunement makes it easy to deal high DPS with skills like Avalanche and Tempest Strike, the latter of which we recommend while leveling.
