As a game that’s part farming-sim,Everafter Fallsgives you plenty of crops to grow, and you’ll need to do a lot of it to afford upgrades for your tools, home, and farm. Each season has its own set of crops, though some can be grown in multiple seasons, and they have wildly different selling prices.
With how much some upgrades cost, like making Mythril Tools or increasing your home’s size, and the space of your chosen Farm Layout, it can be difficult to know what crops to focus on. We’ll give you some of the best crops to grow and give you some tips on how to keep your profits constant.

Short-Term Profit Versus Long-Term Profit
No matterwhich farm layout you pick, there area few things you’ll need to worry aboutwith crops: theprofits you’ll be makingoverall, and thespace they take up versus how long they taketo grow.
On the Standard farm, this isn’t as much of an issue, but onMini and Moat, where you’vegot way less spaceto work with, it’simportant to not end up running out of goldwhile waiting for crops to sell. For this, we’ll look at short-term crops versus long-term crops:

Invest in the Skilled Merchant card to give yourself aten percent increase in gold obtained when selling itemsat its base level, and boost your profits overall
Cauliflower
Honeydew
You’llwant to constantly have Gold coming inand so, overall, you’ll want tofocus on short-term profit crops, unless youneed others for a specific reason, like for one of Freya’s seasonal quests, one of your animals prefers it, or if it’s for a specific recipe. They’ll give you thebest returnas you play the game, even in Winter, as some like Eggplant still grow during that season.
If youneed a specific crop, but don’t want to grow it, you canwait for its In-A-Pot variantto show up in Freya’s store for 1,000 Gold.

Long-term profit crops can work wellfor the large chunks of Gold they’ll give you, but themajority of themcan only beharvested once or twice per seasonwithout a Greenhouse, so they canleave you struggling for cashif youonly focus on them, especially on Mini or Moat farm layouts.
Best Crops To Grow On Every Farm Layout
Strawberry And Potato
There are afew crops that shine above all othersthanks to howquickly they growandtheir modest profitversus how much their seeds cost:StrawberriesandPotatoes.
Both of these crops have agrowth cycle of only three dayseach, so you canquickly turn over fields of themthroughout the month each season, and this isespecially important on the Mini and Moatlayouts.
You can invest in the Skilled Farmer card to give yourself a chance to get abonus crop each time you harvest something.
Summer and Autumn
2,250 Gold
22,500 Gold
Using afield size of around 50 plots in totalas an example, you’re going to begetting quite a lot of goldwith both crops, as you’ll be able toharvest them around 10 times a month, and this iswithout getting any Skilled Farm bonus drops.
While theirselling price may be lessthan crops likePumpkins and Honeydew, you’ll begrowing them much fasterand get more turnover per season overall.
This also means you’ll be able tofree up land quickerand theconsistent profitmeans youwon’t be lacking in gold as often.
Onion And Cauliflower
Onions and Cauliflowers arethe next set of cropswithseveral good things going for themtoo. They’ve both gotpretty good selling prices, a lower seed cost, and afairly quick growth cycle of five and six days respectively, without extra maturation time.
These two won’t be popping up quite as often as Strawberries, but theirgrowth cycle and pricestill make them abetter crop than most, and if you’re on thetwo smaller farm layouts, you stillwon’t be out of space for too long, compared to some others.
6,100 Gold
30,500 Gold
Thedownside to bothof these is that they’reonly available in Spring, so for most of the year, youwon’t have accessto themunless you invest in the Greenhouse, which allows you togrow crops no matter the season, and save up on seeds during that season.
As you start in Summer, youwon’t see Spring until three in-game monthslater, so you’ll have plenty of time to get enough materials to construct the Greenhouse before then.
Still, you canuse them to make plenty of Goldduring the month of Spring orplan to have the Greenhouse completedby the time you get to that season, that way you’ll haveeverything ready to farm them long term.
