Teamfight Tactics' twelfth set, Magic N' Mayhem, brings a new mix of champions, augments, and charms for players to use to try and outplay other avid TFT players. With a new set also comes a new batch of traits that vary in value.
Some of these champions and traits can do more damage and lead to easier victories if you build your team correctly. Even something as simple as missing out on one unit or a key item can be the difference between a fifth-place finish and a first-place finish. There are a lot of things to keep track of, but focusing on a single strong unit and building around it is the easiest path to victory.
Multistriker Kassadin
ThisMultistriker-focused comprelies on two three-stars carrying the weight.Kassadinis the first, as his damage and shielding allow him to live quite long in close fights. The other isAkali, who offers some extra damage even if you don’t put any items on her. Focus on getting up to seven Multistriker units, while buildingBastion, Chrono, and Pyrothanks to units likeJax, Shen, and Hecarim.
Then, whenyou hit level six, roll down for Kassadin and Akali. As you eventually hit higher levels, pick upKalista and Camilleto complete the team. BothKalista and Kassadin need a Guinsoo’s Rageblade, but aQuicksilver and a Bloodthirster are two other key items for Kassadinto make him a near-unkillable beast in the frontline whileKalista and Ashe stay safe in the back.
Vanguard Syndra
Out of all the magic damage dealers in Set 12,Syndra has some of the highest potential outputif you three-star her. She is bothEldritch and Incantor, which will both be activated in this composition. After hitting level six and acquiring key units like Syndra herself,Rumble, Galio, Vex, and Mordekaiser, then you’re able to start re-rolling your shop to try andthree-star those unitsas quickly as possible.
Syndra is the number one priority due to her strength, then Mordekaiser and Galio to keep your frontline strong. As for items, Syndra works best witha Spear of Shojin, Red Buff, and a Nashor’s Tooth.
Preserver Wukong/Karma
Where the previous team focused on a magic damage dealer, Preserver Wukong is defined by the lead tank.Zilean and Syndrashould be your focus in the early game, but when youhit level seven and eight, that’s when youroll down forWukongunits. Other key pickups along the way includeKarma, Bard, and Rakan, and for late game,Milio and Morgana.
The only two units you should try andthree-star are Syndra and Wukong: your key damage dealer and tank.
The same items from the Vanguard Syndra comp apply to Syndra here, but for Wukong, try and geta Dragon’s Claw and a Gargoyle Stoneplate.Karmacan also be built into a strong unit withBlue Buff and Statikk Shiv.
Shapeshifter Cassiopeia/Syndra
Our third-best composition is our third straight appearance by Syndra, but it doesn’t focus on her as much as the previous two. This time, instead of focusing on her Eldritch trait, she combos withCassiopeiawith the Incantor trait. This comp also rolls down at level six but focuses onthree-starringthree key units:Syndra, Cassiopeia, and Shyvana.
Get as manyShapeshifterunits as you can in the team: from Elise early on toSwain, Neeko, Nasus, and Briarlate on. They will be your frontline, and will makeShyvana the ultimate tank with a Sunfire Cape and Dragon’s Claw. Build Syndra the traditional way as listed above, butfor Cassiopeia, build Guinsoo’s Rageblade and a Statikk Shiv. Her ability is strong if her attack speed is high, so focus as much as possible.
Hunter Kog’Maw/Jinx
This composition focuses onKog’Maw, as the name suggests, but it encompasses the bestHuntercomp at the time of Set 12’s release. This team focuses on Hunterbackline of three-star Kog’Maw and Jinx, with afrontline of three-star Rumble, Blitzcrank, and Nunu. As you get four units from the Hunter trait active, you’ll also buildHoneymancy, Frost, and Vanguard.
Save your money, try and get the units you need, and spend your moneyat level sixto try and get all those key units as powerful as possible. Item-wise, get Kog’Mawcritical hit itemsand aSpear of Shojinwhile throwing as manyattack speed items as you may on Jinx.
