Summary
Dendro was the largest change toGenshin Impact’sgameplay and combat since launch, as it brought with it five entirely new reactions. All of these had their own strengths and weaknesses, but Hyperbloom was an archetype that was an obvious winner.
Hyperbloom teams are strong enough to compete with the best Hutao teams, even without much investment. All you really need is a good Hydro unit, a strong Dendro applicator, and an Electro character build with Elemental Mastery to trigger the Blooms!
8Dendro Travller
The Protagonist
The Traveller has separate kits for every single element, but they’re not very good. The exception is Dendro Traveller, who can not only compete but outperform many other Dendro applicators.
Their Elemental Burst, Surgent Manifestation, creates a field that deals Dendro damage periodically. So long as enemies are within range, this ability is almost enough to fulfill all your team’s Dendro needs. Other four-star Dendro characters simply don’t have the frequency of hits needed to be viable, but you can still pair someone like Collei with Dendro Traveller if you think you’re lacking in application.
7Furina
Can Create Adorable Animals
The belovedFurinaDe Fontaine, or the former Hydro Archon Focalors, seems to fit in any team. She deals a huge amount of damage and grants buffs to your entire team while also applying a lot of Hydro onto enemies.
Her Elemental Burst, Let The People Rejoice, is one of the strongest buffs in the game, but it’s not the main reason she’s such a great fit in many Hyperbloom teams. In fact, it’s mostly wasted. What makes Furina so good in Dendro teams is the long duration of her Elemental Skill, Salon Solitaire, which makes rotations very easy and comfortable, as well as her own high personal damage.
6Baizhu
Sickly Doctor
Qiqi’s caretaker, much like her, is a healer. Both his Elemental Skill and Elemental Burstprovide defensiveness in the form of healing and shielding, and both of them deal consistent Dendro Damage as well.
Putting Baizhu in a party with Kuki Shinobu may decrease overall team damage due to them both being defensive in nature. He works better with offensive Electro units such as Raiden.
If you like having a defensive unit in your party, Baizhu’s one of the best characters for Hyperbloom, at least against lower numbers of enemies or against bosses. If he’s fighting hordes of smaller foes, his application might not be enough, and you’ll have to opt for a second Dendro unit to put with him!
5Neuvilette
Shoots A Huge Beam Of Water
Hypercarries have a weird place in Genshin, but Neuvilette is undoubtedly one of the best. He deals huge damage in a large area, and is relatively easy to play.
His scaling off of HP also makes him good at a base level since he can’t make use of buffs like Bennet’s. Due to this, he’s an extremely good pick for Hyperbloom and doesn’t lose any personal damage even without dedicated supports.
4Kuki Shinobu
Free To Play Friendly
The Arataki Gang’s manager, lawyer, and babysitter was one of the characters that came out right before Sumeru’s release, and it’s clear her entire kit was planned around Dendro reactions.
Kuki Shinobu often fails to trigger Seeds that are far away from her, a problem that isn’t faced by Raiden.
She’s a healer who can deal small amounts of Electro damage from off the field with her Elemental Skill, Sanctifying Ring. Shefills in the party’s healing spotas well and is better than most of her five-star counterparts in Hyperbloom teams specifically.
3Raiden Shogun
The God Of Electro
Raiden Ei has a kit that on paper, doesn’t have any synergy with Hyperbloom teams. She passively buffs the damage of her team and helps party members with Energy Recharge, both things that aren’t important in Hyperbloom teams.
Focus on increasing Raiden’s Elemental Mastery instead of building Crit or Energy Recharge since it’s the only stat that matters for Hyperbloom.
Yet, due to the long duration of her Elemental Skill, Transcendence: Baleful Omen, she’s leagues better than any other Electro character. The Eye of Stormy Judgement she gains from her Elemental Skill activates automatically upon dealing damage and deals damage to the enemy, triggering any Seeds around them.
2Xingqiu
Raining Down Swords Of Rain
One interesting thing to note about Hyperbloom teams is that they don’t value individual character damage as much as other traditional teams. Instead, you’d rather put a character that has faster application and a good way to get energy, and Xingqiu is our Hydro unit of choice for those!
Xingqiu’s Elemental Skill, Guhua Sword: Fatal Rainscreen, deals a significant amount of damage and gives him the energy he needs to use his Elemental Burst, Guhua Sword: Raincutter. When his Burst is active, each time a party member uses a Normal Attack, Xingqiu throws a Rain Sword that applies Hydro and deals damage.
1Nahida
The Dendro Archon
Hyperbloom teams may benefit more from Elemental Mastery buffs and consistent application than solid damage, butNahida provides all of those! She’s the best Dendro unit in the game, true to her title as the Dendro Archon.
Her Elemental Skill can automatically trigger blooms whenever enemies are hit and has an extremely long duration. Her ultimate can grant Elemental Mastery buffs to herself, other Dendro characters or the Electro triggers. She’s also a catalyst user, which means you can on-field her for even more Hyperblooms.
