Summary
EAdelisted and shut down online services for three olderBattlefieldgames in 2023, and this weekit announced similar plansfor three more games in the series. Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield: Hardline will be delisted onXbox 360andPS3on Jun 29, 2025, meaning neither the games nor their DLC will be available to buy on those platforms after that date. Online services for all three of those games on the platforms listed will come to an end on Jul 05, 2025.
There are some specifics here you need to pay close attention to. For starters, none of these games will be removed from sale onPC. They will all remain available and their online services will remain intact. The same applies to thePS4andXbox Oneversions of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline. Both were cross-gen titles and EA doesn’t currently have any plans to roll out the desliting and shutdown to the following generation ofPlayStationandXboxconsoles.

If you don’t already own the games on those platforms but you would like to make the most of their online elements before they’re shut down, you will need to buy them by July 31. Even after online services for the games are no longer supported, the single-player campaigns will remain functional after November 7 on all of those platforms. Probably worth picking up the games now even if you don’t plan on playing them right away as if you get a hankering to play them on those platforms at a later date, it will be too late.
Battlefield 3
WHERE TO PLAY
The sequel to Battlefield 2, Battlefield 3 was released back in 2011 by franchise developer DICE. The title featured large-scale battles in the form of “conquest,” filled with a large number of players, huge maps, and tons of vehicles.
The decision to deslist the games, particularly when it comes to Xbox, may well be linked tothe shutdown of the wider 360 marketplace. Xbox will wave goodbye to its most successful console’s storefront on July 29. That presumably means the three Battlefield games being delisted will actually be unavailable from July 29 on 360 since there will no longer be a marketplace on which to list them. It might also mean they are added to the 360’s closing-down sale, although that’s not the case yet.

Battlefield 4
The fourth installment in the mainline Battlefield series, Battlefield 4 is heralded by some as one of the best multiplayer experiences to ever grace the franchise. Players can choose between multiple classes like Medic and Engineer, taking the fight to other teams in Conquest matches where they must control specific points on the map to win.
EA went in a different direction with its most recent Battlefield game,Battlefield 2042, by deciding to not include a campaign. Not a popular decision anda casting call for its next gamehas suggested the studio has made a u-turn in that regard. The only other information potentially revealed about the next Battlefield game at this early stage is that it’s aiming to includesome of the most realistic destruction ever showcased in a video game.
