Summary

Yesterday, Larian Studios celebrated the one year anniversary ofBaldur’s Gate 3by sharing a bunch of stats on what players have been up to since launch. We’ve boned the mind flayer a bunch(even more than the bear!),lost alotof honour mode runs, and pet the ever loving crap out of Scratch. But what about the more romantic side of the game?

As expected, Shadowheart isstillthe most popular pick (with 27 million kisses), followed by Astarion, arguably the two most iconic companions. Where’s the love for Karlach, eh? But theleastpopular pick is Minthara. I guess her eagerness to slaughter a camp of refugees isa bit of a turn off.

658,000 players slept with Halsin, and 1.1 million with the Emperor.

Minthara has only been kissed 169,937 times, just 0.6 percent of Shadowheart’s smooches. In fairness,a lot of people probably killed Minthara when rescuing Halsin, but that’s still a surprisingly low number, especially afterthe update that let you recruit herwithoutall the murder.

How Everyone Spent Their First Act Celebrations

At the end of Act 1, you throw a big party regardless of how things turn out. It can be a bit awkward if you burned the Druid’s Grove to the ground (Gale will drown his sorrows, Karlach and Wyll will leave, and Shadowheart will very clearly be grief-ridden and in denial), but it’s a party all the same. So, with everyone hopped up on ale, things can get a bit raunchy under the moonlight.

32.5 percent of players chose to spend the night with Shadowheart - water is also wet. 13.5 percent “got hot” with Karlach. The infernal engine prevents you from doing much, but it’s a cute scene all the same. However, 15.6 percent of players spent the night alone. I’m assuming that means more people chose nobody over Minthara, but to have a celebratory ‘scene’ with Minthara, you need to kill all the tieflings. Hard pass.
