Larian Will Continue To Support Baldur’s Gate 3 Beyond Patch 7
“It’s hard to believe it’s almost been an entire year since we launched Baldur’s Gate 3,” reads the blog pot. “But the journey isn’t over yet.
“Patch 7 won’t be the final update for Baldur’s Gate 3. We still have a few things up our sleeve - including many community-requested features like crossplay and a photo mode to capture and share your unforgettable moments,” Larian continues. “And we’re working on a host of other enhancements, from gameplay tweaks and quality-of-life improvements to bug fixes and performance optimizations.”

The blog post also strongly suggests that Patch 7 willmake Alfira a temporary companionon Dark Urge playthroughs.
Larian CEO Swen Vincke previously described this patch asa “final handover moment”, leading some to believe that it would be the final patch. However, it now appears that Vincke meant that this will be the final update to add new story elements, likethe cinematics that will be added in Patch 7.
The blog post gives us another preview of these cinematics, showing off a sneak peek at two very evil endings. We’re also being promised new material for both Origin and custom characters, so Patch 7 will be a big one. It will launch sometime in September.
