Summary
We now have a better idea of how bigBaldur’s Gate 3’s next patch will be, withLarianconfirming that it will make over 1,000 fixes and improvements to the game. The devs have also gone into more detail on what some of these fixes will entail, with the changes ranging from simple bug fixes to new story content altogether.
Going live sometime in September, Patch 7 will address some big issues, like companions not acting as intended or some conversations bugging out. But it will alsoadd new ending cinematics, dialogue options, and reactivity to in-game decisions. On the whole, this seems to be the biggest patch yet - so much so that it’s having a closed beta period before it goes live for everyone.

That beta test was supposed to start today, but Larian pushed it back because the patch inadvertently created anewbug - passive rolls stopped working. That’s a pretty bug problem, so the patch isn’t ready to be tested by fans yet. In the meantime, Larian is tiding us over with more patch notes.
Highlights Of Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 (So Far)
There are far too many features for us to go over here, but even then, the blog post doesn’t include all 1,000 changes. We’ll have to wait and see what else Larian has been cooking when the patch drops this September.
In previous blog posts, we’ve been told that the patch willmake Alfira a (very) temporary companion if you’re doing a Dark Urge run, and willmake mods available on all platforms.
