Summary
When it comes toBaldur’s Gate 3players, you’ll struggle to find a single one that doesn’t have some kind of borderline unhealthy fixation over one of the game’s characters (mostly Shadowheart). you may’t really blame them either, as Larian seems to have scientifically catered to every human being’s personal tastes to create one of the most smoking parties in RPG history. Every character in that game is at least a 9/10, even on a bad day.
While most of us just sit here and imagine what our lives would be like if Wyll or Shadowheart just whisked us away one day, a Baldur’s Gate 3 artist by the name of Anna Hollinrake turned their thirst for Karlach into something far more useful. In a series of posts on their personal Twitter account, Hollinrake details the unusual circumstances that got them hired at Larian to make designs for official merch.
With the recent release ofa new shirt designfeaturing Scratch and the Owlbear Cubthat they designed,Hollinrake reveals the email applicationthey sent to Larian in attempt to land the job. It starts off fairly normal, if a little over enthusiastic, detailing how they were losing countless hours of their life playing Baldur’s Gate 3. Hard same.
Baldur’s Gate 3 Devs Hire Artist After “Muscle Mommy” Karlach Shirt Offer
Hollinrake then shows off the email’s header, and it made their love for Karlach very well known to the poor recruiter it was sent to. Hollinrake starts out rather sensibly by explaining they have experience designing apparel for Fall Guys, but then begs the person receiving the email to hire themso they can make a “muscle mommy Karlach shirt.“If that’s not a strong pitch, then I don’t know what is.
While it may seem like a strange thing to put in a professional email application, someone at Larian clearly thought it was quite funny, as we now have official Baldur’s Gate 3 merch designed by Hollinrake herself. Of course, it’s more likely that Hollinrake was hired due to her talent and experience, but even now they “still cannot believe this worked,” and neither can I really. Now, if we could actually get that muscle mommy Karlach shirt, that would be great.
