How To Increase Hearts
The most important thing to do when pursuing a single villager isincrease your heart rank. Hearts indicate how close you are with said character(s), andthe more hearts you have, the better.
All villagers have hearts, but only the marriage candidates' hearts are relevant to romance.
Every two hearts, thecolor of the jewel heartnext to a marriage candidate’s name will change. This can help you keep track of your relationship status.
To earn more hearts, you’ll need tochat with your desired partner daily and give them gifts. It can be difficult to find the perfect gift every single day, so it’s agood idea to give flowers or foodthat they like instead.
Make sure to give your potential partner one of theirloved gifts on their birthdayfor an additional boost in friendship!
How To Unlock Heart Events
Every two hearts, you’ll unlock anew heart eventwith your potential partner. You’llreceive a letterin the mail with details about where tomeet your soon-to-be-sweetheartto initiate the event.
If you don’t get a letter,check the request boardfor a post with a heart on it!
You’ll know that you have the right letter if there’sa little heart iconon it. Sometimes, theletters will come from friends or familyof the single villager, like Olric or Landen, so stay vigilant so you can see each event.
These events will let youget closer to your partnerand see more of their day-to-day life. Witnessing these events shows how your relationship grows and it allows you todirectly engage with themin new ways.
