Summary
In January, Shiba Inu Peanut Butter captured the hearts of thousands ofAwesome Games Done Quickviewers. He became the first animal to speedrun a game during the charity live stream, beating Gyromite in just over 26 minutes.
Now, during the summer version of the event, SGDQ, Peanut Butter returned for a game of Ken Griffey Jr. Presents MLB, and he knocked it out of the park. Literally.
Batter Up
As he stepped up to the plate, Peanut Butter, affectionately nicknamed Peanut Batter during the event, took on the Minnesota Twins on the Super NES title in front of a raucous, although slightly restricted, crowd.
Working with his human,Twitch streamer JSR, and using a modified button shaped like a baseball, Peanut Butter’s game didn’t get off to the best start, going 1-0 down early on. During the sixth inning, however, things started to look up for the good boy as he was able to take the lead.
The Minnesota Twins managed to claw things back to three-a-piece, and the game went to a tense extra innings. And, while the crowd may have been feeling the pressure, Peanut Butter certainly wasn’t. With one of the final hits of the match, the Shiba managed toscore a 2-run home run, bringing the score to 5-3 and winning the game for his beloved (?) Seattle Mariners.
This isn’t the first time the doggo has managed the feat, though. A few months back, presumably whilst honing his craft for SGDQ, Peanut Butter nailed a home run live on Twitch, withthe scene clipped outfor the world to appreciate. There’s a difference between doing something in the comfort of your own home and in front of an adoring crowd, however, and PB deserves to go down in Games Done Quick history.
Games Done Quick has now raised over$50 million dollars for charity, and you can support the final couple of dayslive on Twitch now.
