Start With Beginner Quests

When just starting out with Chronicles of Light, it’s easy to want to dive in and tackle a challenge. However, while learning to play, it’s important to onlystart with the beginner queststo get a feel for the gameplay.

Communicate With Other Heroes

There areno sides to pickin Chronicles of Light: Darkness falls. Everyone at the table eitherwins or loses togetheras a team. You’ll win by completing all your quests, defeating every Shadow, and vanquishing the Vortex. You’ll lose if you run out of cards or hearts.

That means you’ll need totalk with everyone at the tableto decide on what to do. Planning together is the best way to ensure everyone can complete their quests.

Travel Together

Belle, Moana, and Violet have the ability tobring another Hero with them while travelingonce per round. Use this ability tomove more than one character around the mapand cover ground quickly.

Since you have alimited number of roundsto defeat the Darkness, it’s important to complete each quest as quickly as you may. The more locations you can reach in a turn, the better your odds of success.

Re-Roll Your Dice

Battles can be tricky, but thankfully, you canre-roll your dice in each battle. You have the choice tore-roll one or all of your diceafter the first roll. This can help youavoid taking damageafter each battle.

If you don’t roll enough hits to defeat a Shadow, you may re-roll to try and get more. The best part about Chronicles of Light: Darkness Falls is that you cancontinue to battle even if you lose, so long as you still have hearts.

Maximize Your Day

Each round, also known as day, only hasroom for six actions. It’s not so difficult if you only have two players, but when you have four players, it can becomea stressful decision to decidewho moves and who stays still.

Thankfully, there’s no rush. You have time toplan out your dayand decide what happens. Make the most of it and use all six slots before calling it a day. Try tooptimize how many actions you can taketo make progress on everyone’s quests.

Everyone will have different quests, and some can only becompleted by a specified character. For example, Moana’s quest to clear all Ports needs each Hero at a different Port to roll and succeed.

Meanwhile, Maid Marian’s quest to restore the amulet requires her to specifically pick up the fragment at the Countryside Manor. Read the specific steps carefully toensure you’re on trackand can unlock your special action. Remember,everyone has to work togetherto win!

Plan Ahead

The key to winning is thinking ahead. If you only ever plan for the current round, you’re sure to getoverwhelmed by Shadowssooner than later. Talk over your actions with the other Heroes to see if you can stay one step ahead.

Since the Vortex moves each round, you’ll want toprepare for it to place new Shadowsaround the map. Planning your actions a round in advance can help you prepare for the worst andadapt if things take a turn for the worst.

Deal With The Vortex

It’s easy to get lost in your quest, but don’t forget todeal with the Vortex! You’ll need toweaken it after completing your questsbefore you can truly defeat it.
